While serving in the U.S. Marines, Mike received the call to ministry. The Lord led the Silva Family to leave military service and to move to Iwakuni, Japan to start a Calvary Chapel. For 8-years they ministered to military families stationed overseas while also trying to reach out to the Japanese. The Lord then led the Silva family to turn over that ministry to another missionary family and the Lord led the Silvas back to the States where they are now ministering at Calvary Chapel South Orlando. Being married for almost 3 decades, they have four children and three grandchildren. Their heart is to see believers grow in their relationship with Christ and they also have a heart for helping couples cultivate oneness in their marriages.
