Nathaniel “Thani” Abuhamad

City: Dallas/Ft Worth
State/Prefecture: Texas
Country: USA

In 2013, his beatboxing skills serendipitously thrust Thani into the Christian Hip-Hop scene in the North Texas Area. During this time, God blessed Thani with membership in a tight-knit and passionate community of young dreamers and brilliant artists. For years, he fellowshipped with, conversed with, listened to, encouraged, and worked with dozens of rappers, producers, singers, poets, and managers.

Now, Thani envisions the next generation of young artists equipped with the spiritual, mental, and emotional tools to deconstruct and reconstruct their faith around the truth so that they can be “perplexed, but not driven to despair” (II Corinthians 4:8). That they are a “city on a hill” and “lamps placed on a stand, giving light to everyone” of their generation (Matthew 5:14). That there is a new Christian revival in America’s youth pioneered by these artists.

Thani is committed to using his skill in music and theology to cultivate Kingdom co-heirs through the discipleship of young people. He comes alongside them to comfort and guide them as they toil through their thoughts and emotions searching for the truth about who God is and what He desires from them.

To accomplish this, Thani wears three hats: that of an artist, a catalyst, and a dialogist. As an artist, himself, Thani acts as the prototype as an artist of holiness, excellence, integrity, reliability, and steadfastness for the ones he mentors. As a catalyst, Thani is a spark of the spiritual growth and strengthening of promising young creatives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. He works closely with a handful of these people in one-on-one meetings weekly where he mentors them in artistry and guides them in the emotional and spiritual struggles of their lives through conversation, Bible study, and prayer. Lastly, as a dialogist (i.e., speaker in a dialogue), Thani uses the platform of podcasting, The Price of Life, to engage in a public dialogue on difficult topics and questions. This podcast combines sound biblical theology with original poetry and music and broaches difficult and controversial topics in the church and in the culture.
