Betchie was born in a poor family in the Metro Manila region of the Philippines. She heard her calling to serve children even before she received Jesus as her Savior. She soon understood that growing up in extreme poverty was exactly the kind of training needed for her to minister to those in similar circumstances.
In 2005, she returned to the Philippines as a full-time missionary. Her heart for underprivileged children led her to the indigenous community in the mountains of southern Philippines. During all these years, God has been faithful and true. Jesus Christ has been her closest friend and constant companion, especially in seasons of great suffering, as well as being her Rock and Redeemer.
