My name is Jaden, and I’m called to be a missionary in Okinawa.
I was born in the US, grew up in Japan, moved back to the States for a time, and went to Bible college before the Lord made it clear it was time to take a step of faith and come back. So, I did. And I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
I love the culture here. I love the people. I love the church family I get to be a part of. Day to day, that looks like translating sermons and Bible studies, leading worship, and walking alongside the youth in discipleship. That last part is where my heart really is. I genuinely want to be a consistent presence in their lives and help them navigate whatever comes next.
The verse that keeps me grounded in all of it is 1 Corinthians 13:1-3: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”
I’m excited about what’s ahead. Not because I have it figured out, but because I trust where God is taking me. The Lord has put Okinawa in my heart, and I can’t wait to see how He uses me in this season.
