Grace and peace to you! My name is McKayla Thomas, and I am overjoyed to share with you God’s calling on my life to serve as a missionary in Romania. Back in May 2023, while attending Get Up and Go (a global missions prerequisite class offered by my church) I heard the Lord call me to serve on a short-term mission trip to Romania occurring in July. I was overwhelmed, excited, and had no idea how this was going to be possible. Within a few weeks, I raised all support and funding needed and was ready to go on this trip. All glory to God. While in Romania, I experienced God and His love like never before. He was pulling on my heart to stay, get deeper involved, and be a full-time team member at Refuge Center Romania. I was willing to stay however not in a position to, so with heavy grief I returned to the states and began praying that the Lord would make a way for me to move to Romania. Flash forward a few years, 2 more short term trips, some incredible miracles, and BOOM! Here we are! The Lord was and is so faithful and has answered my prayers. I am most excited to serve on this team that I consider my second family, cultivate relationships with the children in Romania, and plant seeds as the Lord brings revival to this country.
