Lewis and Kumiko Conger have been serving in the Tokyo area since 2011 at Calvary Chapel Fuchu. Lewis is a missionary to the church, teaching Bible studies, leading worship, doing outreach, and serving in many other ways. Kumiko serves as an interpreter for church services.
Lewis’s main daily ministry is teaching at the Calvary Chapel International Christian School (CCICS), one of the schools that Calvary Chapel Fuchu operates. Many of the students come from non-Christian homes and are simply seeking an English-speaking education or a better school environment than at a public school. The school focuses on an education founded on the biblical worldview. There are bible classes every day, worship and prayer, as well as all the other academic subjects.
Relationships matter. God has built many wonderful relationships through the years of teaching at CCICS and Calvary Chapel Fuchu. Lewis and Kumiko truly believe that God cares just as much for children’s souls as He does for adults. God has reached many children who have professed faith, and the message has gone further into their homes and reached parents as well. The relationships made through discipling children through elementary school have had a far-reaching impact on whole families.
